Privacy Policy for TaqwaHub

Welcome to TaqwaHub. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a safe, transparent experience when you use our mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how TaqwaHub collects, uses, stores, and protects your information, as well as your rights regarding your personal data under applicable privacy laws and Google Play Developer Policies.

1. Information We Collect

A. Account and Profile Information

When you register or log in using Firebase Authentication (such as Google Sign-In or Email and Password), we collect:

  • Your email address
  • Your display name or unique profile handle
  • An anonymized Firebase User ID (UID)

B. Location Information

To provide accurate prayer time calculations, Athan notifications, and the Qibla direction compass, TaqwaHub requests access to your device's approximate or precise location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION).

  • Usage: Location data is strictly used locally on your device or sent to localized astronomical prayer algorithms.
  • Storage: We do not track or store your real-time GPS history on any remote server.

C. App Activity and Feedback Data

We collect app interaction metrics stored securely via Firebase Cloud Firestore, including:

  • Leaderboard scores and task completions
  • Support tickets, feedback, or complaints submitted through the support panel
  • User-uploaded attachments or screenshots submitted alongside feedback tickets

D. Optimized Progress Tracking

Spiritual progress tracking (e.g., Duas read, Hadith read, and 99 Names of Allah reviewed) is saved locally on your device and synchronized to our cloud servers using delayed, debounced network transfers. This aggregates updates to ensure battery efficiency and reduce redundant active network connections.

E. Device and Ad Identifiers

To deliver and measure advertisements, we collect anonymous device data and mobile advertising identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID / AAID). These identifiers are non-permanent and can be reset or opted out entirely in your device's operating system settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to provide, maintain, and improve the services offered in TaqwaHub:

  1. Islamic Tools: Calculating accurate local prayer schedules and Qibla orientation.
  2. Account Management: Maintaining your account profile, task progress, and leaderboard standings.
  3. Community and Support: Responding to user feedback, resolving complaints, and maintaining app security.
  4. Advertising: Serving context-appropriate advertisements to help fund and maintain the App.
  5. App Service Announcements: Delivering essential updates or administrative messages.

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information (such as your email or name) to third-party advertisers or other third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services and Infrastructure

To deliver our features and run the app, we utilize trusted third-party SDKs and service providers that process data under their respective privacy policies:

  • Firebase (Google LLC): Used for Authentication, Cloud Firestore (database), and Cloud Storage. Firebase processes data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdMob (Google LLC): Used to display advertisements and handle ad customization, performance measurement, and frequency capping. AdMob may utilize anonymous device IDs and metadata to deliver personalized or non-personalized ads.

All data transmitted between TaqwaHub and third-party servers is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS/TLS protocols.

4. In-App Links and External Support

TaqwaHub provides information regarding voluntary support for app maintenance and server infrastructure:

  • Any donation or support buttons within the app redirect users to our official external web portal via your device's default web browser.
  • No financial or payment transaction details (such as credit card or bank account numbers) are collected or processed directly inside the mobile application.

5. Device Permissions and Foreground Services

TaqwaHub requests specific device permissions to deliver core features:

  • Location Permission: Required for Qibla compass and local prayer times.
  • Notifications and Alarms (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Required to send timely Athan reminders and daily spiritual task alerts.
  • Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK): Required to allow continuous background audio playback for Quran recitations and Athan sounds when your screen is off or the app is minimized.

6. Data Security and Retention

TaqwaHub implements strict local sandbox isolation for cached resources and state files stored on your device. Cloud-based data is protected using administrative, technical, and physical security measures through Firebase's robust infrastructure.

  • Retention: We retain account and leaderboard information as long as your account remains active.
  • Security: Access to user database records is restricted to authorized developers and administrative accounts.

7. Data Deletion and User Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time.

Account and Data Deletion: To request complete deletion of your TaqwaHub account, leaderboard entries, and associated support records, email us at taqwahub.ai@gmail.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request" from your registered email address, or visit our Account Deletion Request Form. Requests are verified and processed within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

TaqwaHub does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will promptly delete that information.
